Russula ochroleucoides

This gorgeous russula is a common summer feature in eastern North America's oak and beech forests. It features a sturdy cap with non-peeling skin, and gills that are forked at the base and bruise slowly brown. The cap color ranges from pinkish orange to dull, pale yellow.
