Rhizomarasmius pyrrhocephalus
This small mushroom can be found growing from well rotted wood and forest debris throughout the mushroom season.
The images above show specimens of Rhizomarasmius pyrrhocephalus growing gregariously from lawn in a city park under a pecan tree (Carya illinoinensis); winter. Seemed to be associated with decaying pecan shells. At least a hundred specimens of this mushroom appeared under this tree at one time in small groups.
