Collector's Notes: Solitary in moss, under Quercus alba and Cornus florida, with other (unidentified) hardwoods also present. Cup 15 mm wide and 10 mm deep, quite bowl-shaped. Hymenium glabrous; medium gray brown (no OAC options). Excipular surface paler gray-brown (near OAC 641) overall, but progressively whitish near the stem; with a lens finely tomentose-pubescent. Stem 14 x 5 mm; glabrous; whitish; deeply fluted-ribbed but not lacunose, the ribs extending a few mm onto the excipular surface but not for even one-fourth of the cup's surface. Asci about 260 x 20, tapering to base. Paraphyses up to 5 wide; very gradually subclavate; also tapering to base; with rounded apices. Spores broadly elliptical; 19-22 x 12-14.5 when outside of asci; smooth; with one very large guttule and 3 to many tiny guttules.
