Excipular surface whitish. Stipe 4 cm high and 3 cm wide; deeply ribbed with ribs extending onto excipular surface; whitish. Parphyses clavate to subcapitate or capitate; with granular orange-brown contents in KOH. Spores elliptical to subfusoid; about 31 X 12 µ excluding apiculi; apiculi as broad knobs up to 7 µ wide and 5 µ long, found on about 25 percent of spores outside asci; a few apiculi with a very shallow depression.
