Dr. Rodney K. Nelson

Dr. Rod Nelson is an Associate Professor of Biology at the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith. He currently holds a position as a Visiting Associate Research Professor at the University of Arkansas during a sabbatical leave from his home institution. His research interests are myxomycete distribution and ecology in old-growth forests. He is involved with establishing working relationships with several National Parks and National Forests throughout the western United States . Rod is also working on developing educational materials designed to broaden the use and study of myxomycetes in academic settings.
