International Congress Meeting
August 8 through August 13, 2005
The Fifth International Congress on Systematics and Ecology of Myxomycetes was held at the Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala in Tlaxcala , Mexico , during the period of Aug. 8-13, 2005 . Participants from approximately 25 countries attended the congress, and the scientific program included several pre-congress mini-courses (e.g., "Introduction to the study of dictyostelids and protostelids" and "Methods Useful in Bringing Field Collections of Myxomycetes into Agar Culture") as well as a number of special symposia (e.g., "Research Projects Involving Myxomycetes From Around the World," "Mycetozoan Biodiversity" and "Perspectives on Phylogenetic Systematics of Mycetozoans").
