Melissa McElderry

Melissa is chipping away at her BA degree, working towards a major in Biology and a minor in Art. She has been with the myxo group for just over a year now. Some of her myxo projects include comparisons between burned versus non-burned sites in the White Rock Mountain region of the Ozarks. Also, with the help of PhD student Katie Winsett, she has collected myxos in National Parks in neighboring states such as Oklahoma and Tennessee . Outside of the excitement of the myxo world, Melissa also enjoys sharing her life with an awesome person named Robert, who just so happens to be her husband, his two brothers, who just so happen to be her roommates, as well as spending time with the rest of the family (including their teacup chihuahua Mickey). Among her other favorite activities are painting, backpacking and cooking food that she likes to eat.
