Dr. Carlos Lado

Dr. Carlos Lado is a Research Scientist with CSIC (Scientific Research Council of Spain) and Chairman of the Department of Mycology at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Madrid . His research interests over the last 20 years have been centered on the biosystematics of myxomycetes and the taxonomy, distribution and ecology of these organisms in the Neotropics. He has carried out field research in Europe , tropical Africa and especially Central and South America . Other current projects include the ecology of nivicolous myxomycetes, the biodiversity and ecology of myxomycetes in Neotropical forests and the assemblages of myxomycetes found in arid regions of North, Central and South America .
